World War Z Marches Forward!

"World War Z", the very cool book documenting a zombie war by Max Brooks, just got a very cool director--Marc Forster. Forster, whose Quantum Of Solace comes out today, has already passed on a future Bond movie, citing its taxing production schedule as the main reason why he won't be returning. This has allowed him to sign on to other projects, and it looks like World War Z is next on his slate. The book chronicles a researcher's exhaustive interviews with soldiers, scientists, and survivors following a global war against zombies. Through the interviews, we see the various stages of the war and the destruction it wreaked upon the human race.

Brad Pitt's Plan B picked up the rights for the book back in 2006, around the time I first got a chance to read it. It's definitely a fresh take on the zombie genre, and I'm psyched to see a director like Marc Forster bring his vision to the project. His body of work is incredibly diverse, and so far, he's shown his ability to adapt pretty flawlessly from genre to genre. I haven't come across a copy of the script yet, but with the amount of talent they're amassing behind this project, it should quickly shoot to the top of many peoples' lists of most anticipated movies.
