Eastwood and Spielberg Ponder The Hereafter

Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg are teaming up again, with Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios in talks to have Eastwood direct the Peter Morgan-penned thriller Hereafter. The two last worked together on Eastwood's two-volumed World War II epic, Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima.

Variety reports that script details are being kept under wraps, but that it falls in the same vein as M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense. Eastwood doing a supernatural thriller? Tell me that isn't intriguing as hell. The man has built his directing career around intense character-driven pieces, so I'm itching to see how he tackles the supernatural. Morgan also seems to be venturing into somewhat new territory, having made his name off historical dramas like The Queen and The Last King Of Scotland. Here's to hoping their discussions work out and we get to see Dirty Harry take on some ghosts.
