Kick-Ass Set Report Online

Newsarama has the first images from the Matthew Vaughn-directed Kick-Ass online, per their set visit.

Based off Mark Millar's graphic novel of the same name, pic follows mild-mannered teen Dave Lizewski, who decides to become a super-hero despite not having any sort of super powers or formal training of any kind. Aaron Johnson is cast in the title role, with Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin from Superbad or Augie Farks from Role Models), Mark Strong, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Xander Berkeley rounding out the cast. Nicolas Cage will also play costumed vigilante Big Daddy, who shepards his crime-fighting partner/pre-teen daughter, Hit-Girl (played by 11-year-old Chloe Moretz).

The comic is ridiculously violent and fun, so I'm curious to see how far they'll push it with the adaptation. Vaughn directs from a script he co-wrote with his Stardust co-writer Jane Goldman, so I have a lot of faith going into this.
